This is the front of our house the day after the Tornado.
This is right after it happened. This is exactly what we came out of the cellar and saw. We couldn't get to the house yet, because of the power lines and our propane tank was still going. We had to wait till the electric company turned off the power, and we had to wait for the propane tank to finish leaking. Brad and I were trying to get to the house so we could start saving things, but they wouldn't let us.
Brad's truck was parked right behind mine. My car was in the garage. Brad's was just outside. It rolled his truck and moved it, as you can see, and it shifted my car in the garage.
This is in the garage. It was Kelby and Briley's pink Mustang. We bought that for Kelby when she was about 18 months old. They drove it everywhere. As most of you know, I live on a street with all my in-laws. Aunt, uncles, mother and father, brother and sister, grandmother and grandfather in laws all live on this street. So when we go visit or see them, the girls always drove this. So we lost 3 cars. Kelby was really upset when she saw her car was gone.
This is the back of our house. You can look straight into the living room, dining room, and kitchen here.
This is a look from the back too. Now you are seeing the living room and Brad and I's room. The fire place is laid over into our room.
This is from the back again. This is a look at Brad and I's room. The living room, kitchen, Brad's office area.
This is when things were starting to get cleaned up a little more.
This is my kitchen and dining room. I loved my kitchen. My pantry door that you can barely see here was still good. I don't know how though. It's a glass door that said Pantry really pretty. I fought Brad for that door when we built this house. I was glad it was still good. We took it out and it will go in our new house. Now I'm gonna fight Brad for another glass door that says Laundry Room! ; )
This is our fireplace. Loved this part in our house. If you look back at my pictures when we are in our house, you'll notice the girls had their picture taken here a lot. They would also get up there and sing and dance for us. A lot of good memories in this part of the house.
This is a side view the day after.
This is the path of the tornado. When I couldn't get to the house, I just walked in the line of the path and tried to find things. I found my passport and some muddy pictures. I found our king sized mattress about 1/2 mile away. There was soooooo much stuff. There was also other people's things that landed there that was not ours. We kept it too to give back to the people that lost it.
This is Brad and I's bedroom. It was a massive big bedroom. Our house was a good size house. It was way bigger than the house I grew up in. Our total square footage was 2175. I miss our room a lot. Right now the 4 of us are in a bedroom with a full size bed and a pack in play, play pen. We are sleeping well to say the least. LOL! We miss our king sized bed that we slept in.
We are ready to re-build. This is all gone now. We have approval from the bank. We are getting a building permit from the Town of Goldsby and then we can start getting the stem wall started. It will take about 4 months. I will keep all of you updated through pictures and such.
We are building a different house. It will be a little bit bigger than our other house. We will have a CELLAR! I can't wait for you to see it. I am very excited about it. I just wish it was built.
